What a fantastic dining experience! I decided to visit this place after hearing great reviews from friends, and I’m so glad I did. The atmosphere is simply lovely; it has that classic English charm with a modern twist. I ordered the steak pie, which was heavenly. The pastry was golden and flaky, and the filling was rich and flavourful. It came with a generous serving of seasonal vegetables, which were cooked just right. The service was impeccable. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, and they were knowledgeable about the menu. I also loved that they offered a selection of local ales to pair with the meal; I went for a pint of IPA, and it complemented my meal beautifully. If I had to suggest something for improvement, it might be to expand the dessert menu a bit, as I was eager to try something sweet after such a wonderful meal. Still, I left feeling completely satisfied and can’t recommend this place enough! A must-visit if you're in the area!

I recently visited this charming eatery and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile from the staff, which really set the tone for my visit. I decided to try their classic fish and chips, and it did not disappoint. The batter was light and crispy, while the fish was flaky and cooked to perfection. I particularly appreciated how they served it with a side of mushy peas and tartar sauce; it was delightful! The ambiance was cosy and inviting, making it a perfect spot to unwind after a long day. My only tiny gripe would be the wait time for my meal. It was a bit longer than I expected, but I believe it was due to them preparing everything fresh. Overall, I left feeling satisfied and happy, and I can’t wait to return to try their Sunday roast next time!

I had a lovely time at this quaint restaurant last weekend. The atmosphere was very relaxed, making it a great spot to catch up with friends. We ordered a variety of dishes to share, including the shepherd’s pie and the ploughman’s lunch. The shepherd’s pie was hearty and filled with tender meat, while the ploughman’s was a delightful mix of cheese, crusty bread, and pickles. I especially appreciated the quality of the ingredients; everything tasted fresh and homemade. The service was friendly, and our server was eager to offer recommendations. However, the place was a bit busy, and it took a while to get our drinks initially. That said, the wait was worthwhile, and it was clear that the staff were doing their best to accommodate everyone. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely come back for another round of that shepherd’s pie!

Wow, what an unexpected gem! I stumbled upon this delightful restaurant while exploring the area and decided to pop in for lunch. The inside is beautifully decorated, combining rustic charm with a touch of elegance. I opted for the battered cod with chips, based on the recommendations I had heard, and it was fantastic! The cod was so fresh, and the chips were perfectly crispy on the outside yet fluffy on the inside. The portion sizes were generous, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home. I also enjoyed a refreshing homemade lemonade that really hit the spot. My only suggestion would be to have more seating options, as I noticed it filled up quite quickly during lunch hours. It was a bit cramped at times, but the food and service more than made up for it. Overall, I had an enjoyable meal and will definitely return to try their breakfast menu next time!
